• This tetrapeptide, corresponding to residues 435-438 of the type I collagen sequence, is the minimal active recognition sequence for the alpha2β1 integrin complex on platelets and other cells. It was shown that DGEA inhibited platelet adhesion to collagen at concentrations comparable to its parent peptide (430-442).
