Tumor Cell Lines-QGP-1

Human pancreatic islet cell carcinoma cell line with carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA)-positive. This cell line secretes somatostatin, but not RI and RI B, suggesting that this cell line originates from islet D-cells.

QGP-1 is a human pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor cell line derived from the pancreas of a male patient with a carcinoid tumor. These epithelial-like cells are polygonal or rounded and grow adherently in standard culture conditions (37°C, 5% CO₂). The cell line expresses neuroendocrine markers such as carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) and synaptophysin, and shows elevated expression of transcription factors related to neuroendocrine differentiation, immature pancreatic β/δ-cell genes. The cell line exhibits genomic instability, with a portion of the cells showing a tetraploid karyotype. This cell line also exhibits the expression of somatostatin receptors (SSTR2 and SSTR5), making it an important in vitro model for studying pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (pNETs).
